KAINALU ELEMENTARY ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (AUP)
For Internet Access
The students of Kainalu Elementary may have free access to the Department of Education's computer network for the Internet. This access, under supervision, will enable students to explore the Internet world. Our goal is to guide and teach our students in navigating through the World Wide Web (www) for beneficial purposes and to minimize their possibility of accessing materials that may be illegal, inaccurate, or potentially offensive.
Access privileges to the network will be given to students who agree to act in a considerate and responsible manner and who have been trained by their sponsor teacher to use the computer and Internet properly and safely. All students must comply with the following guidelines in order to access the Internet:

Internet Guidelines
The Internet may be used only by authorized users for educational purposes only. Users must act responsibly and respect the integrity of Kainalu Elementary's academic and technology goals.
The following are prohibited:

- Sending, downloading or displaying offensive messages or pictures
- Using obscene language, harassing, insulting or attacking others.
- Violating copyright laws
- Using another person's password
- Trespassing in or modifying another person's folders, work or files
- Using the account for personal profit or gain
- Abusing computer equipment belonging to the school
Violators will lose Internet access and computer privileges.
