National School Lunch Program
Kainalu Elementary School participates in the National School Lunch Program. This program provides free or reduced price meals to students who qualify based on the total household income and the number of members in each household.
Application forms are sent home in the first day of school packet. Thereafter, forms are available in the School Office. Families who may be eligible are encouraged to complete the application and return the form to the Office as soon as possible. Families who qualify for the National School Lunch Program MUST reapply in the following year (if they feel that they still meet the qualifications for this program).
For students who qualify: Parents and other adults cannot eat off of a student’s plate for either breakfast or lunch. Our school could be fined for non-compliance or our federal funding cut for the National School Lunch Program when adults take food from students’ plates.
Badge Replacement Policy
Students with damaged, altered, defaced, or lost ID badges will be required to purchase a replacement ID badge. A replacement fee of $5.00 shall be assessed for each occurrence of a lost/damaged ID badge
